Who I Am
I’m Paul Morris, a hands-on software engineer, engineering leader, and test automation specialist with over fifteen years of experience building products that people actually use. I like solving hard problems, building things that actually work in production, and making sure quality is embedded from the start — not chased down at the end.
Leadership
I’ve built, grown, and supported engineering and QA teams across the UK and internationally, including nearshore and offshore setups. That means hiring well, mentoring properly, setting clear standards, and helping teams work in a way that is sustainable, accountable, and genuinely effective.
Software Engineering
I’m comfortable across web, mobile, and backend engineering, and I’ve delivered production systems using Next.js, Tailwind CSS, React, Flutter, Dart, Swift, and SwiftUI. I care about clean implementation, sensible architecture, and building software that is maintainable long after the first release.
Testing & Quality
On the testing side, I’ve designed and delivered automation frameworks covering frontend, API, and end-to-end flows using Playwright, Cypress, TypeScript, and CI/CD pipelines. For me, quality is not a phase at the end of delivery; it is something that should be designed into the product from the start.
Observability & Data
I care deeply about observability, telemetry, and the data behind product and engineering decisions. You cannot manage, improve, or fix what you cannot measure, so I value the systems, dashboards, and feedback loops that make performance, behaviour, and risk visible.
